Requesting a vehicle history report through MotorRegistry is simple. To do so, enter your vehicle’s rego/licence plate number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the main form on the home page, select your state or territory, and click ‘Get Report’. 

You’ll then be redirected to a page containing basic information of the vehicle so that you can confirm the details are correct. From there, you can select from a Basic Vehicle History Report or Comprehensive Vehicle History Report based on your preference. The costs of the respective reports are also provided on this page.

MotorRegistry offers two types of vehicle history reports - Basic and Comprehensive.

A Basic Report, which includes the PPSR Certificate and some basic vehicle history information, is currently $24.95. If you go with a Comprehensive Vehicle History Report, which includes the PPSR Certificate and an extensive report covering a variety of important data (such as finance owing, recall checks, odometer assessment, theft-risk rating, and more), that will cost $39.95. We also now offer Comprehensive Plus which does a deeper search of data exclusive to MotorRegistry - including extensive service history, location and registration records, damage and repairs, recall resolutions and more. This report is $54.90, however we currently offer a discounted price of $49.90 if purchased within 10 minutes of your search.

As MotorRegistry pulls data from an array of sources, including government registers, third-party sources and internal sources, our reports provide the most comprehensive and accurate information pertaining to a vehicle’s official, verified history in Australia.

Government registers, such as the PPSR, are regularly updated and will provide clear date stamps of a vehicle’s history, such as its year of manufacture, registration expiry, and other notable notifications such as if the vehicle was written-off or stolen.

As the aim of MotorRegistry is to provide the most feature-complete reports available to consumers, we’re continuously working on building out the data and insights that our reports offer.

This year, we integrated more data into our reports that includes essential information for used vehicle purchasers, such as:

• Maintenance history: this includes verified service, repair and warranty records; covering details such as reported issues, work performed, cost to the consumer (including warranty costs), replaced vehicle parts, and technician/mechanic notes.

• Odometer history: verified odometer readings through inspection and repair data from certified mechanics, specialists, and annual safety checks - this provides a verified audit trail of odometer readings.

• Damage/insurance claims and quote history: this includes information on damage recorded during prior insurance claims, repair quotes, incident records and repair records.

• Location and registration history: we reveal records of suburbs & states the vehicle has been located over its life. We also show past licence plates and states the vehicle was registered in, which may help tell the story of the car's ownership and movement history.

Recall history and status check: MotorRegistry can confirm whether a vehicle was recalled at any point and if the issues that required a recall were addressed and resolved (varies by vehicle manufacturer).
