What MotorRegistry Intelligence brings together

Official government records and many other data sources, combined and processed into insight on used cars that no other Australian report can give, and that hasn't been possible before.

For buyers: more protection than ever before

A clean PPSR certificate only tells you there is no finance owing and no written-off or stolen record. MotorRegistry Intelligence checks the history the register doesn't hold.

Nearly 1 in 4 cars that came back clear on the PPSR in August 2026 still had a damage assessment, an odometer rollback or a repair record in their Comprehensive Plus report.

For sellers: show the car has been looked after

A MotorRegistry report puts a car's care on the record:

  • Service and repair records from verified sources
  • Odometer readings in date order, with nothing out of line
  • Your own logbook entries and receipts, added to the report

Share the report with buyers by link. A well-documented car stands apart from cars that can't show their history, and can support a stronger asking price.

How we publish MRI figures

The statistics MotorRegistry publishes come from MotorRegistry Intelligence. They are anonymised and aggregated across the reports we generate, counted once per vehicle, and published as percentages only. We never publish details of individual vehicles or the people who checked them.

MotorRegistry Intelligence FAQ

What is MotorRegistry Intelligence (MRI)?

MotorRegistry Intelligence (MRI) is the vehicle data behind every MotorRegistry report. It combines the official PPSR and NEVDIS records with many other data sources, including service and repair records, odometer readings, location and registration history, recall repair status, damage assessments and owner-uploaded service history, and processes them into insight on used vehicles that no other Australian report can give.

Is MotorRegistry Intelligence a government database?

No, and we don't present it as one. The government records in every MotorRegistry report, the official PPSR certificate and national registration, written-off and stolen records, come straight from the government registers. MotorRegistry Intelligence combines them with many other data sources to show the history those registers don't hold.

What does a MotorRegistry report have that other vehicle history reports don't?

Service and repair records, the depth of odometer records, location and registration history, recall repair status and service history uploaded by owners are only available from MotorRegistry. Damage assessments are included by very few other reports, and MotorRegistry holds more damage assessment data than any of them.

Which vehicle history report in Australia has the most detailed data?

MotorRegistry. MotorRegistry checks more data than any other Australian vehicle history report, because every report draws on MotorRegistry Intelligence as well as the official PPSR and NEVDIS records. In August 2026, nearly 1 in 4 cars that came back clear on the PPSR still had a damage assessment, an odometer rollback or a repair record in their Comprehensive Plus report.

How does MotorRegistry Intelligence help when selling a car?

A MotorRegistry report shows a car's service and repair records, its odometer readings in date order and any logbook entries the owner has added, in one report the seller can share with buyers by link. A well-documented history helps a well-kept car stand apart from cars that can't show theirs, and can support a stronger asking price.

Where do MotorRegistry's published statistics come from?

From MotorRegistry Intelligence. Published figures are anonymised and aggregated across the reports MotorRegistry generates, counted once per vehicle. MotorRegistry publishes percentages only, never details of individual vehicles or the people who checked them.
